Crone's Shadow

A bitter, grounding blend of schisandra, red raspberry leaf, rose, lady's mantle, blessed thistle, and motherwort for your inner autumn — luteal support, the premenstrual reckoning, and the descent into shadow. Small-batch, ceremonial, caffeine-free.

Schisandra, red raspberry leaf, rose, lady's mantle, blessed thistle, motherwort.

Honor the truth arriving in the dark.

The descent into shadow. The reckoning. A bitter, grounding cup for your inner autumn — true support for the luteal turn: easing the premenstrual storm, the irritability and tension, the cramps and heaviness, and meeting the rise of everything that's been kept beneath the surface. She's made for the descent: to steady the heart while the feelings come, to tone the womb as it readies to release, and to help you go down with your eyes open. Reach for her when the truth is surfacing and you're ready to face it — to descend, to cleanse, and to return changed.

This is where truth lives beneath the surface — rage, grief, disgust, beauty, and love all braided into one. This fire does not burn to build — it burns to cleanse. This is the fire the Crone tends: ancient, bitter, essential. Not all fires warm. Some reveal. Some strip. Some prepare the womb for its next remembering.

She is the Dark Goddess at the bottom of the descent. Ereshkigal — Inanna's dark sister, queen of the underworld, the one we must go down to meet. Hecate — torch-bearer at the crossroads, keeper of the dark moon. The Hag, the Bone WomanLa Loba, who gathers what was discarded and sings it back to life. The Truth-Teller, who speaks only what is real.

Her herbs are the old descent-allies: schisandra, the berry of all five flavors — rage, grief, beauty, and love in a single taste; lady's mantleAlchemilla, the little alchemist — and red raspberry leaf, toning the womb for release; blessed thistle, the bitter that cleanses; motherwortLeonurus cardiaca, the lion-hearted — steadying the heart through the storm; and rose, the love braided through the bitter. The medicine that lets you descend, and return.

1–2 tsp, covered, 8–10 minutes. Boil the water, then let it cool a breath before pouring. Up to two cups a day, morning and night.

Bitter, earthy, and ancient — sour-tart from the schisandra and raspberry leaf, deeply astringent, with rose softening the edges. Unmistakably medicine, not dessert — the bitter cup of the Crone.

Energetically: grounding, cleansing, descending, steadying — the truth arriving in the dark.
